Nobody is perfect and that’s okay

Some days I feel like a complete BOSS…like THAT mom! You know, the mom that does it all.

Cooks, cleans, takes care of the kids, tells her husband where his keys are without having to look, and maybe even changes out of her Pj’s and into something other than some kind of stretchy pants.

BUT, if I’m being honest, most days I am a big ole flop! Most days I let my little one watch TV all day, most days the dishes and laundry pile up, and most days I can’t find my own head, let alone my husband’s keys!

Now in my case, my husband is abso-freakin-lutely fabulously amazing, he really helps me around the house and with our daughter!

You know those memes that some woman made because her husband just wants to sit on the couch, drink beer, and watch TV?

Like these.

Well, I can’t relate!

I’m totally not saying he’s perfect (seriously, he’s far from it!) but my husband is pretty great!

Anyway (in my best Ellen voice), back to what I was originally saying. On those days that I feel like a big failure I really start questioning myself. Am I yelling at my kid too much? Should I have let her have another piece of candy? Do I say ‘no’ too much?

I think, as parents, we have to remember that we are doing the absolute best we can.

I feel like we need to encourage ourselves, as well as other parents. Parenting is not a walk in the park, it’s hard work, but beating yourself up because you aren’t perfect doesn’t help anyone.

No one is perfect, we’re all just doing our best and your best IS enough!
